„Wie ein Phoenix aus der Asche…“
Stimpack sind eine fünfköpfige Metalband aus Landsberg am Lech, die sich im Jahr 2003 auf den Weg gemacht hat, um frischen Wind durch die Musiklandschaft wehen zu lassen. Stimpack kombinieren harte Musik und intelligente deutsche Texte zu ihrem ganz eigenen Ding.
Stimpack sind Schwermetaller einer neuen Generation, die den Metal nicht neu erfinden, aber gekonnt mit den vorhandenen Zutaten einen frischen Sound kredenzen. Fuchs, Klaus Kanone, Mo, Oi und Oli bieten eine moderne Variante von Metal, frei von Klischees, versetzt mit harten Riffs, gepaart mit melodischen Refrains, die im Ohr hängen bleiben. Stimpack spielen nicht nur am oberen Rand der Härteskala. Sie liefern auch rockende und groovige Stücke ab.
Textlich orientiert sich Sänger Oli nicht an amerikanischen Vorbildern. Die Texte von Stimpack sind nicht englisch, Stimpack verarbeiten ihre Wut und Verzweiflung über den Zustand der Gesellschaft in deutscher Sprache. Dass Sänger Oli und seine Band dabei wie Hohepriester der Apokalypse wirken, ist keine aufgesetzte Show, sondern der Ausdruck von jungen Künstlern, die Musik als ihr natürliches Ventil betrachten.
Der Besuch eines Stimpack-Konzertes macht am ehesten deutlich, von was hier die Rede ist. Stimpack verstehen es, die Kraft ihrer Songs in eine energiegeladene Show zu packen. Hier reißen sie alle Barrieren nieder, bringen Trommelfelle und Erdboden gleichermaßen zum Beben und haben nur ein Ziel: ein Metal-Konzert der Spitzenklasse zu veranstalten. Motto: “Full Metal Package”. Eine Spannungskurve gibt es nicht. Wie ein Phoenix steigen sie aus der Asche und legen sofort los, wenn der erste Riff ertönt. Das Feuerwerk hört erst auf, wenn der letzte Ton verstummt ist.
Stimpack schaffen es, durch ihre ungeheure Dynamik und den Facettenreichtum in ihren Songs, Fans harter Musik aus allen Lagern zu unterhalten. Im letzten Jahr haben Stimpack ihre erste EP „Weltenbrand“ und ihr erstes Musikvideo zum Song „Wie es war“ mit viel positiver Resonanz veröffentlicht. Live waren sie auf Tour mit den Emil Bulls und ihren Freunden von End of Green. Am 22.06.2009 kommt nun ihr Debütalbum „Dunkle Wasser“.
Stimpack treten in den Arsch und ziehen weiter ihr eigenes Ding durch. Stimpack sind neu, jung, innovativ und begierig darauf, der Welt zu zeigen was guter Metal ist. Zwar ist Landsberg am Lech zugegebenermaßen nicht der Nabel der Welt, aber wer hat eigentlich das Gerücht verbreitet, guter Metal müsse aus Amerika kommen und von Bands repräsentiert werden, die ihre besten Zeiten längst hinter sich haben?

Stimpack is a 5-piece metal band from Landsberg am Lech in Southern Germany. These guys set out in 2003 with nothing less of a mission than seeing a fresh breeze sweep through the music scene. Stimpack blend heavy music with intelligent German lyrics into their very own idiosyncratic style.
Stimpack is heavy metal brought to you by a new generation. Though they might not reinvent metal altogether, they still find their very own way of taking the ingredients at hand to serve a most refreshing new melodic meal. Band members Fuchs, Klaus Kanone, Mo, Oi and Oli have a modern flavor of metal on their menu, free from any clichés, peppered with hard riffs and served on a plate of melodic choruses that are guaranteed to echo in your ears over and over. Stimpack don’t just occupy the upper end of the heavy scale. Some of their songs could rather be described as rocking or even groovy.
Lead vocalist Oli does not get the inspiration for his lyrics from American role models. The lyrics of Stimpack songs are not in English. Instead, the band decided to voice their anger and despair about the state of society today in their German mother tongue. If you feel that frontman Oli and his band somehow remind you of being the high priests of the apocalypse, you might just be right. But the decisive thing about it is that this is no artificial attitude but a simple case of young artists using music as their preferred natural way of expressing themselves.
Seeing a Stimpack concert yourself is the best way of finding out what we are talking about here. Stimpack have found the recipe for pulling out shows that seem to burst with the energy of their songs. All barriers are torn down while the sound will make your eardrums vibrate and the earth shake. Their effort serves just one purpose: to stage a metal concert of top class, true to their motto: “Full Metal Package”. Forget about any dramatugical suspense. They rise like a phoenix from the ashes and kick off with the first riff. The fireworks won’t stop until the last note has faded.
Stimpack succeed in attracting fans from all walks of the heavy scene through the formidable dynamics and the rich diversity of their songs. Last year saw the release of the first Stimpack EP “Weltenbrand” as well as their first music video for the song “Wie es war”, drawing a lot of positive feedback in the wake of these releases. They have also been on tour with two other German bands, the Emil Bulls and their friends from End of Green. Finally, their debut album “Dunkle Wasser” will be released on 22 June 2009.
Stimpack kick ass and will continue to do their thing. Stimpack are the latest craze, young, innovative and eager to show the world out there what good metal can sound like. Fair enough, their hometown Landsberg am Lech might not be the hub of the universe. But do you really believe that good metal can have its roots nowhere else but in the United States and has to be brought to you exclusively by bands that have had their days?
